Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Model

Caparison Guitars – 30th Anniversary Custom Line

Created to mark the 30th anniversary of Caparison Guitars, the Custom Line TAT II is released as a strictly limited-edition model in the iconic Red Sunset and Iceberg colours.

These finishes are a direct tribute to the guitars shown in Caparison’s first catalogue in 1996, and have been recreated by Itaru Kanno, the original designer responsible for hand painting those legendary instruments. The result is a faithful revival that captures the character and individuality of the original guitars—no two are exactly alike.

The 2025 Custom Line TAT is an exclusive 30th anniversary model and a true collector’s piece representing three decades of Caparison craftsmanship and design.

Additional Information

Schaller S-FRT II Tremolo Bridge – This Schaller-made tremolo bridge is distinguished by its unique construction, in which the bridge body and knife edges are separate components. The knife edges, which contact the studs, are precisely machined on both sides, providing excellent return-to-zero performance. This minimizes unnecessary movement caused by string vibration and ensures high tuning stability during performance. The knife edges are made from high-hardness steel, offering superior resistance to wear and long service life. Because the knife edges are not integrated into the bridge body, the design avoids producing harsh, metallic high frequencies, resulting in a smoother and more musical tone.

Gotoh HAP Tuners – The Dellinger model features a 15-degree headstock angle, allowing the strings to sit low against the locking nut without the use of a tension bar. By adopting Gotoh HAP tuners, the height of each string post can be adjusted according to string gauge, enabling optimal positioning for each string at the locking nut. This design minimizes tuning changes when the strings are locked, contributing to improved tuning stability.

Terminal Wiring – To eliminate external noise interference, conductive shielding paint is applied inside both the pickup and control cavities. These cavities are connected using a terminal-based grounding system, and the control panel is fitted with an aluminium plate to further enhance shielding effectiveness. This terminal wiring design not only improves noise resistance but also offers excellent serviceability, allowing electronic components to be replaced easily in the event of a problem.

Caparison Neck Grip Design – This original Caparison neck grip was designed with smooth left-thumb movement in mind. The basic profile is a “U” shape, with a neck thickness that avoids being overly thin while maintaining a comfortable feel. The thickness measures approximately 21.0 mm at the 1st fret and 22.0 mm at the 12th fret. The perceived thickness is also influenced by the fingerboard radius, which transitions from 350 mmR to 400 mmR. To further support natural thumb movement, the edges of the U-shaped profile near the fingerboard sides are subtly reshaped. Near the nut, the neck feels flatter to the thumb, and as the hand moves closer to the body, the shape gently guides the thumb toward the back of the neck. Caparison believes that thinner is not always better when it comes to neck design, as overly thin necks can increase fatigue during long playing sessions. A certain amount of thickness is therefore considered essential for comfort and endurance.

Custom Switching

The TAT II is equipped with a push-pull switch integrated into the tone control, giving you remarkable tonal flexibility even with its dual-humbucker configuration. Pulling up the tone knob coil-splits both the neck and bridge pickups, expanding the range of sounds from full-bodied humbucker drive to crisp, articulate single-coil tones.

Through and Through

The Caparison through-neck is engineered for speed, comfort, and fatigue-free play, while its seamless design maximizes sustain and resonance. This unique construction takes full advantage of a neck-through design: the natural curve of the body top serves as the neck angle, bringing the neck closer to the player. The result is a more natural playing posture, especially when reaching higher frets beyond the 12th.
