HAND CRAFTED IN JAPAN

All Caparison guitars are built in Japan, crafted with care and precision by highly skilled artisans.

Working closely with Caparison’s designers, these master builders have an intimate understanding of the brand’s distinctive construction. They draw on their expertise to refine every detail, ensuring that each stage of the process is carried out with exceptional accuracy.

The result is a guitar of uncompromising quality—perfectly balanced, meticulously finished, and worthy of the Caparison name.

While modern guitar making relies on the precision-controlled machining, the soul of the instrument is still born from human hands. Wood—the foundation of every guitar—demands time and patience: careful drying before it can even be shaped, painstaking polishing, and multiple complex layers of finishing before it takes on its final form.

The neck alone requires extraordinary care: subtle shaping where a change of less than a millimetre alters the feel, fretwork that determines playability, and joints that directly affect the guitar’s tone.

These are processes no machine can fully replicate. They rely on the judgment, sensitivity, and skill of experienced craftsmen. It is this human touch—refined through years of practice—that elevates our guitars beyond an industrial product, giving each instrument its unique character and voice.

Each Caparison Guitar is the result of countless hours of experience, dedication, and craft.

At Caparison, the pursuit of sound lies at the heart of everything we do. This quest drives us to create instruments that are not only visually distinctive but also musically superior. For us, design is far more than drawings and blueprints—it is a holistic process that considers every element: the choice of wood, the finish, the pickups, and every intricate detail that shapes the instrument’s character.

Tuning stability and pitch accuracy are essential, but so too are the subtle touches that inspire the player: the colour, the fingerboard inlays, and the overall feel of the instrument. These principles were clearly expressed in our 2004 catalogue and continue to guide our work today.

Even the iconic Devil’s Tail headstock was crafted with sound in mind, as well as form. From pioneering body designs like the M3 and WB to the careful selection of woods such as Australian Blackwood, every decision reflects a commitment to refining tone, playability, and the enduring spirit of craftsmanship

EVOLVING DESIGN

Caparison Guitars has been developing its instruments for many years, and the process continues today. Our established models—Horus, TAT, TAT-Special, Dellinger, and Angelus—have enduring appeal. Updates to these models are not merely cosmetic; they are carefully designed to enhance sound and performance. Our guitar designer continually explores new body constructions, tone woods, and pickup arrangements to bring out the character of each instrument.

EXACTING QUALITY CONTROL

Caparison Guitars evaluates every instrument according to its own exacting quality standards—standards widely regarded as among the strictest in the industry.

Unlike the typical notion of a simple inspection, we go further: during this process, each guitar receives a final setup comparable to that of an artist-level instrument. Every guitar also comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, certifying that it has passed inspection and undergone this meticulous final setup.

Post-Production Care and Protection

We are committed to preserving the quality of our guitars even after they leave the workshop.

After inspection, every Caparison guitar is fitted with a fret guard between the fingerboard and the strings, featuring the Caparison logo. This fret guard is made from a material that helps regulate humidity, which is particularly important since the fingerboard is sensitive to changes in moisture.

Once the fret guard is in place, the guitar is stored in a Reunion Blues case—a lightweight yet highly protective gig bag. This custom-made case also bears the Caparison logo.

Our approach ensures that the guitar is protected not only from humidity but also from vibrations and shocks during transport, helping maintain its quality over time.

Please note: The fret guard does not completely prevent the effects of humidity and is not sold separately.

The Reunion Blues case is also not available for separate purchase.
